I have two servers: one running Win2k and one running Debian. At the
moment the Win2k server is running a couple of mail domains, but I would
like to move them to the Linux server. (so I can take the Win2k server
offline and upgrade it to Debian ;-)
What is the best way to do this?

Hi,
If I understand the docs etc. I have to use the following in
'custdomains/domain.tld.tab' on the new server:
smtprelaytabip.old.server
Can I leave the defaults for -Qt, -Qi and -Qr? I think so because the
old server isn't down (yet)...

Users are not automatically added to the mysql db... You've to add them
by hand or make a script.
After that, when you add a new user it is automatically added to the
xmail 'db' and the mysql db.

MySQL is available for win32 and php has a dll for imap (look in the
extensions dir).
If there are any problems they will be in the IMAP-server -- Xmail
connection...

). Since it is written around
that model I will have to rewrite it for the PHP IMAP extension?? If so
I can't do ithehe am not a good programmer in PHP at all. So if that
is rewritten it should be able to work in windows?

There is a very serious bug in PHPXmail 0.33 which sets the password of
a user instead of authenticating it.
Fix class.xmail.php:
line 268 should be
$cmd = userauth\t$l_domain\t$l_username\t$l_password;
Thanks to Crlittle for pointing this out!

Not being up to date with the history of the 'original' sendmail I was
wondering why there is a switch to read the recipients from the mail
file ('-t'), but not for extracting the sender...
I still have to supply the '-f sender' although there is a 'From:' line
in the message...

In an attempt to secure my mailserver I did the
relay-test.mail-abuse.org. For those who don't know this test: from
your server you do a 'telnet relay-test.mail-abuse.org' and they will do
a series of spam tests.
The problem is that I don't know how to get past test #8:

Hi Davide,
Thanks for the info, haven't got time to set it up, but I will

Hi there,
I thought I had the same problem, but it turned out to be a bug(?) in
sendmail.exe...
mail.txt (of course without the tags ;-):
-- start --
From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Subject: test email
This is the body
-- end --
Then I used:
sendmail [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Is there anybody who can help me on getting the mail processing with
external programs started on windows?
I have a few questions:
-can I use batch files
-where to place the external programs or
-how to set the path to the external programs (unix or windows style)
Any help will be greatly
is the R/RW permission
good for?
Thanks in advance,
Paul Heijman
p.s.
Xmail - PHP works like a dream; thanks for a great product!!! :-)
as an answer to myself:
