Have you tried X -configure to generate a usable xorg.conf (inside
chroot). And if necessary, adding your own Keyboard and Mouse section
like this:

They can never be replaced by evdev, because evdev is linux-only. But
yes, evdev is often used on linux platforms, but it does need a
working hal.

I just reverted Xos.h and kept the rest of the x11proto changes.
Lazily, did not check back through all the #if defs changes as too many make
me go cross-eyed :)

--enable-kdrive
if I use
--enable-kdrive --enable-tslib i get the following error when I run make
