[Bug 35835] New: screen corruption using radeon 6.14.1 with an external monitor
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35835 Summary: screen corruption using radeon 6.14.1 with an external monitor Product: xorg Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Driver/Radeon AssignedTo: xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org ReportedBy: c.sten...@web.de QAContact: xorg-t...@lists.x.org While most things run pretty well I sometimes see some screen corruptions (~200px from the left are copied to the right). The corruption happens when I start an xterm for the first time or when I maximize an xterm and run a program like top (see corruption 1), or when I hit the logout button in KDE (see corruption2). My setup looks like the following: Thinkpad T60 (ATI X1400 GPU) with an internal LCD (1400x1050 resolution, _disabled_) + an external DVI-connected LG W2220P display (1680x1050 resolution, _enabled_, primary). Maybe it's just coincidence, but it looks like the corruption starts at a x_pos of about 1400 pixel (the x resolution of the internal but disabled LCD). The old 6.13.2 driver doesn't show this problem. Using the ColorTiling false option fixes the problem for me, but I'm not sure if it should be used or not. I already tried the xorg-patch mentioned in bug fdo#33929 but it doesn't help. The rest of my setup: kernel 2.6.28, openSUSE 11.4, x11-server 1.9.3 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ xorg-driver-ati mailing list xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-driver-ati

[Bug 35246] Screen flashes and xorg goes in loop
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35246 --- Comment #11 from Diego pand...@inwind.it 2011-03-31 12:24:07 PDT --- (In reply to comment #10) Does the screen blink if you boot to runlevel 3 (or whatever the non-X runlevel is on your distro), i.e., boot to the kms console? You can also try stopping upowerd or keventd (I think). I confirm that the screen doesn't flicker in runlevel 3 (non-X). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ xorg-driver-ati mailing list xorg-driver-ati@lists.x.org http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-driver-ati
