Hi, I also tried it, and I'd also like to use it (and to improve it, if I find time). I created a new branch xournal-double in my repository (github.com/immi-h/xournal) which is the master branch with the changes from xournal-double merged in. (I also tried to rebase xournal-double to master, but this created a lot of conflicts, so it would have been much more work.)
I also tried whether it would be easy to merge it into next; as I expected, there will be a bunch of conflicts to be resolved. How do we want to proceed? I think xournal-double is not yet in a state to be part of xournal-next. Should we keep it as a branch from master for now, polish it a bit and then deal with merging it into next? I'm happy to work on this when I find time, but I don't know yet when that will be (and whether that will really happen).
