Howdy,

I am experiencing keyboard freezes on my Asus F7400 laptop
using XFree86-4.1.0 (Redhat 7.2 and KDE 2.2.2). These lockups
happen as a result of a fat-fingered slip where I accidentally
hit two keys simultaneously (or nearly so). Nothing else gets
hung; I can still use the mouse pointer and there's no
evidence of excessive CPU usage. The lockups
occasionally resolve themselves after 10-20 minutes and it
appears that all the queued keyboard events then get normally
processed. If I exit KDE (to kdm) and log back in, everything
is fine. I assume that this is because the server gets
        restarted in this process.

Is there a daemon for the keyboard that I can restart or
signal? Are there executables that I could use to diagnose
        the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help. This problem has become very
annoying recently because I have a new baby daughter
and so I'm doing a lot of awkward one-handed typing these days!

        Regards,
                Andy
