For several releases now (12.04 and 14.04) and across several machines
(Lenovo 32-bit and Dell 64-bit), changing brightness settings is

Those tweaks work fine on my machines. :-)
Not really a Linux error, this; it has to do with BIOS / UEFI that's not
standard-compliant.

Hello. I was testing xubuntu 14.04 64 bits. I saw hibernation and I wanted
to try it.
I did, the screen became freezed, I switched off the computer and switched
on.
And after the grub I saw again my previous desktop of the live xubuntu.

problems solved and the icons scale properly from 16 to 40 pixel for the
