gnome/gtk) since dapper, but I won't spend time on this for hardy+1 since
the gtk variants don't have a real interest now that gnome libs are included

For the moment you need to edit your xorg.conf this to add/remove layouts.
You can switch from one to the other with the xfce4-xkb-plugin
(available on the repos).
I'm working on this plugin to manage layouts adding/removal, to avoid
the xorg.conf edition.

With the Xubuntu isos available, we need more tests, and have to see
