[xubuntu-users] Screen blank during version upgrade

I kicked off an upgrade on my laptop from 14.04 to 15.50 today and it was all going well (half-way through the installation part) until my screen went black (I had disabled the screensaver before I started). The system is still running: I can log into it with ssh, and all the expected upgrade
