Re: [xubuntu-users] cannot upgrade from 20.04 to 22.04
Hi, I think that you have to update to the next version, 20.10 - then 21.04 and so on. Re: [xubuntu-users] unable to install grub
Hi, Have you tried to reinstall xubuntu from a usb/dvd? It should set up the grub automatically. If your data is in a different partition, there should be no risk of deleting it (but always do a back up first). I have tried to repair a corrupted grub manually, but spent hours and did not succeed. At the end I decided to reinstall. Good luck. Michele On Wed, 1 Feb 2023, 18:25 François P. Hi David, Why do you need to keep a screen always visible on a computer? Maybe you should consider a different type of display if it has to be always on. Hi Jeffery, If I'm not mistaken, you can look at the keyboard application. Look at Settings | Keyboard, then you'll find a tab with Application shortcut. In there you can change or remove shortcuts. Re: [xubuntu-users] From 16.04 to 18.04
Hi Fritz, for performance you have to take into account that the applications ( not the OS) have been updated and they probably demand more memory. How old is your pc/laptop? [xubuntu-users] Black monitor after upgrade to 18.10
Hi. I was running Xubuntu 18.04 without any problem. I upgraded to 18.10 and after reboot my monitor went black. I can login only if I choose the recovery mode, but my monitor resolution is not correct. I tested 18.20 live DVD and everything looked ok, so I decided to do a reinstall. Unfortunately I had the same problem and cannot login unless I choose the recovery mode. My laptop is Acer Aspire 4810TZG, with ATI Mobility Radeon HD4330. I suspect it's an issue with graphic card drivers. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Did someone googling but nothing helped so far. Thanks. Hi Brian, Jedit is based on java, so I would check which version of java is supported and if you have it installed.
