The Conference is especially designed for engineers, applied mathematicians and scientists from academia, industry and national laboratories who are interested in the latest advances in discrete element technology. We would also like to draw your attention to the open-source development mini-symposium, which will bring open-source developers together to present and discuss the unique features of their codes. This session will also serve as a one-stop-shop for potential new users. Yade users and developers are also invited to a second drop-in session where anybody can come and try a given code. The codes that will be represented at this drop-in session will be finalised shortly. We look forward to meeting you at the DEM8 conference and the mini-symposium next year in Enschede, the Netherlands. Sincerely Organisers of the "Open-source development" mini-symposium of the DEM8 conference Anthony Thornton and Hongyang Cheng, University of Twente, The Netherlands >>
