SADTU Teachers at Work, with logo, smaller.png 8 August 2017 SADTU to March against Gender Based Violence As South Africa commemorates the month of August as Women's Month and reflects on the strides the country has made towards women's emancipation, the South African Democratic Teachers' Union (SADTU) will use this period to make its voice heard against the ever increasing abuse and violence on women, children, learners and LGBT. SADTU believes that fighting this scourge is not for government alone but it requires the entire community to join hands. SADTU in KwaZulu-Natal has led the way. They held a prayer service on Friday, 4 August 2017, at Coastlands Hotel in Durban. On Thursday, 10 August, 2017, SADTU in the Western Cape will hold a press briefing on increasing violence in schools in the province. The Union will on Saturday, 12 August 2017, hold a national march in Soweto to be led by the National Leadership. Churches, businesses, community based organisations and the community at large are invited to take part. The media are invited to cover the event. The march will take place as follows: .
