i didn't actually get around to following this up with my ISP as I seem to
be getting it intermittently everywhere I go these days. So far, that
includes London, Reading, Bath and Southampton.
are you guys any closer to figuring this out yet?

Yeah, I've been missing this feature too. It disappeared sort of
gradually. first the tags lost the subscribe button now the users too.
I found the feature pretty useful, especially compared to the round
about way required to subribe now...
