Add UPSTREAM_CHECK_GITTAGREGEX to check the correct latest version.
Before the patch:
$ devtool latest-version ocfs2-tools
INFO: Current version: 1.8.6
INFO: Latest version: 2
INFO: Latest version's commit: 80a60d697d9052d3f196a932df3d1fb5f0df52d6
After the patch:
$ devtool latest-version ocfs2-tools
