Applescripting Yojimbo: Empty items?

2007-12-12 Thread Jacob Lyles
Any ideas how to implement in Applescript a check for empty Web Archive
items? (i.e. Failed downloads)

Thanks,

Jacob

Here's a weird little curiosity - I opened an Adobe Illustrator
document just now (by double-clicking on it's icon in the Finder),
for the first time since installing the recent 1.5 update, and rather
than opening Illustrator my Mac decided that Yojimbo was a better
choice and created a new Image entry with the file name as the title,
although it seemed unable to read the file contents. Easily fixed
with the Finder's 'Get Info', but odd none the less. I've not
experienced this with any other file types, any idea what the cause
 might beŠ?

Recent Illustrator Documents are either pure PDF or PDF/AI combinations.
Maybe Yojimbo 1.5 glommed onto PDF/AI file types on your machine.

Feature proposal: Could Yojimbo list the number of files associated

Or is there already a way to ascertain that?

Isn't it faster to just not look for tags you're not using?

Drag .webloc - becomes web archive

2007-12-12 Thread pete boardman
When I drag a webloc file to the drop dock, it becomes a webarchive
rather than a bookmark. Is there an option to change this to create
bookmarks?

Yes.

I now realise that .webloc files are URLs... :)

Question re Palm/Treo sync

2007-12-12 Thread Mark Hessman
I'm thinking about buying Yojimbo largely due to the Palm (Treo) sync
capability. I had one quick question:

Missing Sync can be set up so that it only syncs selected Yojimbo
collections, from what I've heard. My question is: can this be a tag
collection, so that Palm syncing is determined by the presence of a
tag I put on the item -- and so that the item can live in the
collection it belongs in from a topic point of view?

i.e. say I have Home and Work collections, and certain items
within each of them are tagged with Palm. Can I create a Palm
tag collection and have it be what syncs to the Treo?

One other question: often I select what I want and bring up the Quick
Input window without remembering to hit Copy. The last thing in my
clipboard shows up. I hit escape, hit Copy to put the intended new
item onto the clipboard, bring up the QUick Input panel again... and
I get the same old clipboard item shown (Your previous information
has been preserved) plus the AutoFill button if I want to update the
Quick Input window with what I've just copied. This is a real
inconvenience, especially because the window is all the way over on
the right side of the screen.

Is there a way to either turn off that Previous info has been
preserved option, or to dismiss the Quick Input window in a way that
won't activate that option the next time?

Thanks,
Mark

Re: Quick Input Panel - Autofill

2007-12-12 Thread Mark Hessman
I've just read the archive on this one and partially answered the
second question I posted a couple of hours ago.

I understand the reason behind this feature -- but I would VERY MUCH
like some kind of way to say I summoned the Quick Input panel in
error and don't want to put this material into Yojimbo at all, so
please don't preserve it when I dismiss the panel. That happens
significantly more often than wanting to stitch together a Yojimbo
doc from multiple clipboard items.

Thanks,
Mark

ok Steve, Sebastian,
thanks, the Command-Shift-A keyboard shortcut makes it more optimal
for me!

I've been using Yojimbo since about the beginning and didn't know this
one! Thanks!

I've only spent a few minutes with Yojimbo, so I'm a real beginner as
far as scripting it goes.

This code finds some of my web archives that don't appear in the
browser.

tell application Yojimbo
set i to every web archive item
repeat with j in i
if comments of j = then
set flagged of j to true
end if
end repeat
end tell

It's as if the source URL and the comments field agree only when the
web archive has been downloaded.

I'm probably talking nonsense again...

When I read this the first thing that occurred to me was a keyboard
shortcut (since that's most likely how you would summon the QIP).

ESC usually makes it go away. I'd think either SHIFT+ ESC or ALT+ESC
would be a good Dismiss With Prejudice key combo
