F8 doesn't drop input panel

I'm a newbie to Yojimbo,  really just getting started to learn how it  
works today. But, just like some previous posters have noted, F8,  
doesn't work properly. I'm running a 20" iMac with the aluminum  
keyboard and just before playing around with Yojimbo, downloaded the  
latest set of patches from Apple, which included an aluminum keyboard  
firmware update (Mac OS X 10.5.2 (9C7010)). Could that be the problem,  
or are there others who've had this problem and resolved it?
