Thank you, Patrick! Cmd-Shift-V would be a lot better than the default setup. If there are any QS users out there who need this, here is how I got it to work: 1: Invoke Quicksilver. 2: Type CUR, select Current Application (Proxy Object). 3: Tab, type MEN, select Menu Bar Items. 4: Tab, press down arrow to drill into menu. 5: Type PAS, select Paste and Match Style. 6: Invoke QS Preferences (Cmd-,). 7: Select Triggers Tab. 8: Click the + sign and select HotKey. The action pane appears containing the action. 9: Verify action, and click Save. 10: Select the new action in the Trigger column and set HotKey. There's only one problem: the HotKey only works in the application that was Current when I set it (in this case Yojimbo). You can work around this by following the same steps with Mail.app active, or any other application you want, and QS will allow you to use the same HotKey. I even verified that the Scope of the HotKey in QS is set to Enabled in All Applications. I suspect it has something to do with what Proxy Object means to Quicksilver. kind regards, john -- -- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list yojimbo-talk@barebones.com. Yojimbo Notes
I like storing my notes as plain text, and I also like having the option of linking things together, using tables, or other formatting if I need to. Yojimbo lets me do both, converting plain text to rich text on the fly if I choose to add a hyperlink or edit a table. Nice: I have plain text notes and rich text notes living side by side in perfect harmony. My problem is when I paste formatted text into a plain text note. Doing this in TextEdit and other text editors I use begets plain text, which is what I want. In order to do this in Yojimbo, I have to press Shift-Alt-Command-V (Paste And Match Style), which may be Apple's punishment for trying to use keyboard commands. I'd like to get a behavior like what I have in TextEdit, where I can paste in text and remove the formatting. I couldn't find a preference pane that dealt with this. Any ideas? -- -- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list yojimbo-talk@barebones.com. Applescript for opening Yojimbo Notes in BBEdit
Has anyone made an Applescript to open a Yojimbo note directly in BBEdit? If not, would the proper procedure be to export the note to disk, open it in BBEdit and then have the Finder delete it from disk? Using Yojimbo to store and retrieve text and code snippets. Yojimbo's RTF certainly isn't ideal for that but BBEdit having it's own database would be very useful. With do shell script, textutil -convert HTML plus some fancy grep, it seems like it'd be possible to preserve what formatting is useful and strip the rest out. Run html2text.py at the end and it could even end up as Markdown, as another example. but any edits you make there will be lost, and not make it back to Yojimbo. I'm assuming a second Applescript would be needed to send info back to Yojimbo so that'd more properly be a separate topic. But I'm not experienced with Applescript so first things first, I thought I'd attempt something very trivial to start out. Re: Sync Yojimbo notes to mobile phone
No, you are not. There is currently no way of doing this. Mark/Space at www.markspace.com are currently asking customers online, if (an what) they want to sync to S60. Move over there and fill out the forms, maybe we will get this somedays. Some applescripting would be okay, but I would really like to have sync services handle the actual syncing. The more information I put into Yojimbo the more I feel the need to access it from my mobile. Webjimbo is not really an option for me because it does not work offline. Am I the only one who feels this need? Thanks for any hints! Sebastian -- -- This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list yojimbo-talk@barebones.com.
