I was using the genshi text templates from z3c.pt to generate emails. I
have since switched to chameleon, but I can not find any trace of text
template support there. Did that go missing somewhere, or am I
overlooking something?

Hey Wichert, ––
I believe the text templates live in ``z3c.pt``. Perhaps they ought to
be available in ``chameleon.zpt``, too.
I think they ought to :). They use genshi syntax, not zpt syntax, which
would make chameleon.genshi a better fit.

Why does chameleon do $-expansion in zpt? That's a Genshi feature.
Yes, it's a Genshi-feature, but it's been present in ``chameleon.zpt``
for a long time now.
I would not necessarily be opposed
into chameleon, or
possibly even be replaced with standard python string formatting with a
bit more work.
Is this a path that would be interesting? I doubt people using pylons or
other non-zope environments want to buy into the complexity that
zope.i18n brings..
