One of my favorite albums of all time is called The Jerry Hahn Brotherhood - it features keyboardist/vocalist supreme Mike Finnigan.
The album was produced by Joe Gannon and Larry Sharp. I don't know who Larry is but Joe has had a huge career from Kingston Trio to Alice Cooper to running Zappa's record company (according to wiki). Does anyone have any info on this guy in the FZ world? Here's a few links to show what I'm talking about: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Gannon http://www.mikefinnigan.net/music.html http://www.jerryhahn.com/disc.html http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=jerry+hahn+brotherhood Jerry Hahn Brotherhood opened a few shows for The Mothers around the time their album came out in 1970 - Fillmore East, etc.... If anyone has any of their live shows, I'd love to find some of those, as they're a rare find. I have a collection of JHB posters, covers, etc in the photo pages at http://www.myspace.com/dawaynebailey I grew up woth Mike in Kansas and he told me that before FZ hired Bobby Martin, he asked Mike to join the band but Mike had already signed on with someone else. Hendrix hired Mike to play on Electric Ladyland, so he seems to be respected by a few giants out there: http://youtube.com/watch?v=xQteSSBg6vE If you'd like to see Mike in action with Steve Stills and Mike teaching you how to sing a Blues classic - feel free: http://youtube.com/watch?v=9day-FsZl4c http://youtube.com/watch?v=usw-O8_-tGI http://youtube.com/watch?v=Euk1N0zVyww -------------------- Anyway, I'm on mission to try and get this long forgotten lost gem of an album re-released, re-mastered with the usual bonus tracks, etc - but Joe is retired in Hawaii with his restaurant - Joe's: http://www.bevgannonrestaurants.com/joes/who_is_joe.html Any info would be much appreciated and thank you.
