Is there any wonder why I love this group? Thanks Pat! SOFA Three of the four shows from the run circulate - the 27th, 28th and a "mystery" show which most consider the 26th although it might be the 29th. I'll call it the 26th.On all three shows (and all other shows by the Jobson lineup), Pound has an FZ solo over this vamp. (The one used on the CD is from the 26th.)The tape from the 26th cuts into the outro of Purple Lagoon with an instrumental version of the Any Kind Of Pain chorus inserted. The rest of the piece is not on the tape. The 27th has a long Purple Lagoon with "free jazz" solos, no vamp. On the 28th, FZ mentions that they will try reusing the Pound vamp for the Purple Lagoon solos. The Mike Brecker and Ruth Underwood solos on the CD come from this show, and probably also Randy Brecker's solo. The Cuber and O'Hearn solos are apparently from the fourth, uncirculating show.Pat BuzbyChicago, ILFor further Z-related fun, please visit http://www.thebignote.com or http://www.killuglyradio.com , thank you.
