Hi, only a short highly subjective comment on Mike Patton and his "avantgarde leanings" (since recently he got on my nerves repeatedly): judging from an extensive interview I read, he seems to have a provocative/arrogant attitude (but without any of Zappas intelligence it seems...), and the several Zorn recordings with Patton that I heard, well... Zorn's music ranges from absolutely breathtaking to absolutely ridiculous, and the projects with Patton imo definitely belong to the latter (with Patton doing "free" vocals, yeah). A duo recording of MP with Joey Baron is silly beyond description! (so a great drummer might not be able to save the respective project ;o) JF
