The latest edition of Greg Russo's book "Cosmik Debris" will be
available at the end of June from Crossfire Publications. Included this
time will be session information for "Joe's Garage" and "You Are What You Is,"
along with up-to-date information on all the releases and happenings since the
last edition three years ago.
Greg Russo recorded a CD with Napoleon Murphy Brock, Candy Zappa, Nolan
Porter, guitarist Andre Cholmondeley (of Project/Object), drummer Glenn Leonard
(formerly of Project/Object), The Tornadoes, violinist Joe Deninzon (of
Stratospheerius) and trumpeter Dave Ballou. It is called "Neonfire,"
and it features Napi's excellent vocals (3 tracks), Candy Zappa and
Nolan Porter (5 tracks) and The Tornadoes on "Bottom Feeder."
Last year, Crossfire released "Now And Then" by The Tornadoes, which
included 4 tracks engineered by FZ in 1963. "Now And Then" featured 29
tracks, including a Zappanale live version of Zappa's "Grunion Run" and
a cover of "The Cruncher."
Also available at the end of June will be the second Tornadoes CD issued by
Crossfire, entitled "Charge Of The Tornadoes." The other 7 tracks
engineered by Zappa are on this CD. The remastering on both CDs is
superior to any other Tornadoes release, and many Zappanale performances
are included.
