I can't "answer" for the copy of Lather you have (I've never
playedmine on my PC), but I do recall the tracking phenomenon you mention
from the vinyl days. I think your assessment is as good as any I've heard.

on the rest. Vines are a way of sharing recordings of live shows. Many if not
all of FZs shows were recorded by not only audience members. Well mixed
and engineered sound board recordings exist as well. While most are kept in a
vault by the Zappa family, many have
