In the MOJO tribute issue, someone (Barry Miles I think, but I'm not
certain) talks about watching Otis conduct the Mothers in the studio
while Zappa was in the control room. The track he talks about
specifically is Holiday In Berlin.
I can't see anyone 'conducting' Hot Rats, because it's built up
entirely of overdubs as far as I can tell, but Otis conducting the
Mothers around that time seems to be a fact.
