Re: [Zaurus-devel] Kernel 2.6.32 status
I added some floating patches for lzma + lzo to linux-kexecboot_2.6.32. Unfortunately on c7x0 these seem to render kernelk unbootable from nand again :/ The good news is lzma-compression gives back more than 250kb! Probably my bad kernel config...I'm ripping it apart too much for linux-kexecboot. (And bootloader is given/hard to change, right? That's quite powerful argument.) -- (english) http://www.livejournal.com/~pavelmachek (cesky, pictures) http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~pavel/picture/horses/blog.html ___ Zaurus-devel mailing list Zaurus-devel@lists.linuxtogo.org http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/zaurus-devel

A quick update after a talk with Richard Purdie on IRC: Q How is it the patch is "unmergable"? No chances to have it upstream? A "the bootloader on the device is broken" Q Actualized 2.6.32 patch (trivial line edit)? A "I can add a new version to the site" -> pxa-linking-bug-r1.patch Q About the necessity of lzo_jffs2_sysfs patch: A "Its a nice to have feature, not essential...Never got that one upstream iirc :(" Q Should we stay favourlzo? Re: [Zaurus-devel] Kernel 2.6.32 status
> The kernel boots fine from SD/CF but not from nand. Seems I solved...it just needs an old patch (2004) http://www.rpsys.net/openzaurus/patches/archive/pxa-linking-bug.patch I'll have to do some minor editing anyhow (row numbers). How is it the patch is "unmergable"? No chances to have it upstream? Regards Andrea P.S. There is a second patch in the linus-rp serie which is 'perhaps' necessary: lzo_jffs2_sysfs patch. I saw some new options for jffs2 in the sources. Unsure about how actual this patch is. Re: [Zaurus-devel] Kernel 2.6.32 status
ok, I added it for c7x0. The kernel boots fine from SD/CF but not from nand. Zaurus freezes after flashing it on mtd1 (no reboot). Ideas? Andrea ___ Zaurus-devel mailing list Zaurus-devel@lists.linuxtogo.org http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/zaurus-devel

2.6.32 has been added today to openembedded (by Marcin). I'll add the linux-kexecboot version. Regards Andrea ___ Zaurus-devel mailing list Zaurus-devel@lists.linuxtogo.org http://lists.linuxtogo.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/zaurus-devel

I'd go for 2.6.32: offline charging is broken, but so it is in .31. I only test using kexec, but I'd recommend going with .32. [Zaurus-devel] Kernel 2.6.32 status
Hi kernel-hackers, the 2.6.32 is due soon: what's the real status on Zaurus? I tried to follow LAKML but got lost by the patch flood... If you judge it stable enough, I'd consider to write a new recipe for it in Openembedded. Or should we stay with latest 2.6.31? My last test of 2.6.31 was one month ago, for a kexecboot-kernel. Biggest problem I found is it did not boot from nand so I didn't test other areas.
