Thanks for testing. However I think zd1211rw is probably detecting the
wrong RF type here: my earlier records say this is an AL2230S. Any
chance you could check the RF type with the latest vendor driver?

zd1211rw will support AL2230S within the next few days.

Thanks,
Daniel

The mainline version does not have automatic rate adjustment, but
devicescape does. This is documented on the driver homepage:
http://zd1211.ath.cx/wiki/DriverRewrite

Thanks for the ID addition, will add it to my tree.

Exactly the same device, with the wireless-dev kernel from yesterday.

% dmesg | grep grep zd1211rw_mac
zd1211rw_mac80211 2-6:1.0: firmware version 4725
zd1211rw_mac80211 2-6:1.0: zd1211b chip 0baf:0121 v4810 high 00-14-c1 AL2230_RF
pa0 g--N
zd1211rw_mac80211 2-6:1.0: wiphy0
usbcore: registered new interface driver zd1211rw_mac80211

I tried it too with 2.6.20 vanillia kernel, with some problems
regarding transfer rate : without any settings others than ssid and
wep key, I had something like 9 Mbits/sec with vanillia kernel, while
I have 18 with dscape stack.

Are there some other tests that may be helpful ?
