I'm closing this bug report, since none of us has the required
experience (or a raid setup) to understand what's going on. Thanks for
the report, though, and please let us know if you get any additional
information or can provide a patch!

With write-intent bitmaps our arrays, if dirty, are now reconstructed
before anyone logs in. That avoided the conflict with 'zeitgeist'.
The fast recovery speed also suited our other requirements better,
despite the trade-offs involved.
