Zekr already highlights currently selected sura:aya. If you are using
our Debian package on Ubuntu or similar OSes and have syncing issues with
current playing aya with Quran navigator, please use our .tar.gz
package<http://zekr.org/download.html>

You can also manually change highlighting method by editing
<zekr-workspace<http://zekr.org/wiki/Workspace>>/cache/screen-style.css.
Search for selectedAya and change highlighting method. Currently it adds two
left and right borders to the selected aya. You can also change background
color by adding:
background-color: #f0faff;
