I second the motion!
I either snip a short clip or, like in this post, I add it just above the
subject post. I the subject post has many points I either embed my remarks
in appropriate places or snip a short clip as suggested.

How about just including a short clip from the start of the message to which
one is responding? Some of these messages get pretty long. If one wants the
entire string he/she can go to the Yahoo Group website to view them. This is
common courtesy from other lists to which I belong.
