Yesterday "May 14th",i got up around 6:30am went outside, breathed in
the sweet air and thought to myself "self maybe you should go fishing".
I sat in my car, turned it on then drove to the lake, where i found a
nice lump of grass to sit on.
I cast several times till i hit what i believed to be the "sweet spot",
then i watched as the white and red dobber bobbed up and down in the
gentle ripples of the water.
I chose to go fishing so i could practice attentiveness/zazen in a
setting that was slow and peaceful, throughout the day as i sat i come
to the conclusion that fishing is quite a wonderful metaphore for the
practice of zazen.
