With kids, they have to come to you. More wisdom is
passed down by example than anything else. Kids are
full of questions. How you answer them will help lay
the map for cognitive patterns later in life. How you
help them with life problems will effect how they help
themselves later on.
If you are living Zen from your heart and such, it
will rub off automatically.

I didn't begin zazen until I was almost 26. I am
34 now. I too, now have a son who is 14 months old.
His mother and my family are both rock-ribbed
Catholics and they don't really understand the Zen
Buddhism thing at all. They talk around the subject
rather than ask me questions directly. I simply smile
and sip my tea. I love them all very dearly. I will
raise my son to be Catholic, with a firm grasp of Zen.
He will someday make a choice, and I have no doubt he
will make the right one. And, I'm quite anxious to
know what the right choice is. As to an answer to your
question, I'm quite sure YOU'LL make the right choice
as well. I'm anxious to know the answer to that, too.
