Addressing a press conference here on Thursday the state party president M Venkataswamy noted that they decided to back the Congress party as it has always stuck to the secular idea unlike the JD (S) which has resorted to casteism in the name of secularism and BJP which has adhered to communal credentials. The coalition government has no ideological stance, it is an opportunist government, he criticised and said that neither Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy nor former prime minister H D Devegowda has faith in BJP. In this situation, Congress and Siddaramaiah have emerged the alternative choice for people. Condemning the ostracising of dalits in Kadakola of Bijapur district, he charged that the government has not taken serious note of the development. The chief minister should stay at houses of dalits in the village, he demanded.
