Dalits to form Dalit Congress Party
Updated: 10-20-2007

HYDERABAD : Mala Mahanadu is to come up with a new political outfit
called 'Dalit Congress party of India' with the sole aim of assuming
power to realise the rights of the dalits by 2009. Mala Mahanadu
president Karem Sivaji announced his plan of action for setting up the
political outfit on Saturday.
As per his plan, a meeting is scheduled to be held in Kurnool
on October 25 where nearly two lakh people belonging to Mala community
were expected to take part. The meeting is called Mala Pulibiddala
Athmagaurava Mahasabha. He hinted that the BC unions were fed up with
Kammas and Reddys who were enjoying power and were working out ways
and means to join Kapu unions to wage a united fight even by joining a
third alternative to assume political power.
Referring to the Usha Mehra Commission report, Mr Sivaji said
that the report was going in favour of Madigas with regard to the
proposed legislation of SC sub quota. He said that with this
development, they were quitting Congress and floating a new political
outfit to assume power and provide rights to the Dalits.
Mala Mahanadu president Sivaji was critical of Chief Minister
Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy and TD supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu for doing
nothing to improve the lot of the dalits and challenged that if they
were given power even for one day, they would confiscate illegal
properties of both the leaders in one hour and give one kg of gold to
all the poor in the State.
He found fault with the Congress government over the proposed
move of increasing RTC bus fares while letting off Madiga Dandora
activists who destroyed 114 buses in the State.
