PARLIAMENT OF INDIA * LOK SABHA SECRETARIAT * NEW DELHI * DEPARTMENTALLY RELATED STANDING COMMITTEE ON SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT INVITE SUGGESTIONS/COMMENTS ON THE SUBJECT "SCHOLARSHIP SCHEMES FOR SCs/OBCs". * The Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment headed by Shri Dara Singh Chauhan, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha have selected the subject "Scholarship Schemes for SCs/OBCs" for detailed examination and report during the year 2009-10. 2. The objective of these schemes is to provide scholarships and financial assistance to the Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes students studying at Pre-matric, Post-matric or Post-secondary level and also for higher studies/fellowships to enable them to complete their education. These schemes are being implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the scholarships are awarded by the Government of the States/UTs to which the applicant actually belongs. 3. The Committee invites written memoranda containing suggestions/views/critical comments of individuals/institutions/organizations interested in the subject matter. 4.
