Re: [zfs-discuss] Maximum zfs send/receive throughput

2010-11-13 Thread Karsten Weiss
Does this maybe ring a bell with someone?

Update: The cause of the problem was

OpenSolaris bug 6826836 Deadlock possible in dmu_object_reclaim()
http://bugs.opensolaris.org/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6826836

It could be fixed by upgrading the OpenSolaris 2009.06 system to
0.5.11-0.111.17 (via the non-free official support repository).

[zfs-discuss] ZFS Administation Concole

2010-11-13 Thread Brad Henderson
I am new to OpenSolaris and I have been reading about and seeing screenshots of
the ZFS Administration Console. I have been looking at the dates on it and
every post is from about two years ago. I am just wondering is this option not
available on OpenSolaris anymore and if it is how do I set it up and use it.

Actually, I'm betting that you saw the Administration console for one of
the 7000-series appliances, which are OpenSolaris/Solaris Express -
based. The Admin stuff for that is NOT freely available, and, in fact,
is one of the big value-adds that buying the 7000-series gives you.

[zfs-discuss] Growing the swap vol?

2010-11-13 Thread Kyle McDonald

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi all,

I'd like to give my machine a little more swap.

I ran:

zfs get volsize rpool/swap

and saw it was 2G

So I ran:

zfs set volsize=4G rpool/swap

to double it. zfs get shows it took affect, but swap -l doesn't show
any change.
I ran swap -d to remove the device, and then swap -a to re-add it, and
it still shows 2G (about 4 million blocks).

How do I make the change take affect?
