This engineer will be responsible for design and development of SIP based interface to a media server. The position requires very strong knowledge of the SIP protocol and in particular media server control, participation in systems architecture and design. This position is responsible for assuring that is maintains its leadership in the newest technologies, product ideas, and direction. This position assures that products are created in the most efficient manner using best practices in the industry. The position interfaces with Product Management and all Engineering development teams. RESPONSIBILITIES *Working with a team to design a SIP based interface to a media server. *Technical leadership as necessary for projects. *Author of architecture and functional specification documents. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS *2 of more years of VoIP solutions development. *5 or more years of experience in a structured engineering environment for the development of telephony features with emphasis on IP telephony and communication skills. *1 or more years of experience building products based on the SIP protocol. *JAVA, C++, C and object-oriented design. *Software Development in the structures environment using source control. (Subversion, ClearCase experience desirable) and following a software development life cycle. *Linux platform development experience. *SIP and media server control protocol expertise. *Experienced in developing applications that interface with a media server. *Experienced in the development of a media server. *Solid software engineering skills particularly in object-oriented design using JAVA and C++. *Ability to learn and apply new technologies. *Individual must be extremely energetic and influence with a high level of conviction. *Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. *Excellent interpersonal skills. *Ability to analyze and balance facts, priorities, resources, constraints and alternatives to make sound decisions and recommendations.
