Job Description:
Our client has an immediate need for a Mainframe Consultant with Strong MVS
experience to work a 2 month contract position in Austin, TX. This position is
responsible for ensuring continuous availability of all online systems,
successful completion of all online transactions and batch programs, and
hardware components in the data center. These tasks are accomplished through
the use of hardware and software products that facilitate continuous proactive
monitoring of local and remote systems and the problem identification,
recording and resolution for clientele. The person in this position will work
with all groups in I.S. to achieve 100% availability per Service Level
Agreements. They should be familiar with basic MVS (mainframe OS) commands, but
may have to seek assistance for many problems on that platform. They should be
able to perform mainframe IPL*s under supervision.
