This position will support the design, development, and maintenance of software for new and existing projects. Additionally, this individual will work closely with users to define requirements for development and maintenance projects, coordinate acceptance testing and training, and to identify changes and enhancements to existing software. The Database Developer will work with a team of other developers to code and test programs. The primary development and support will be for CRM system. Job Reports To: Data Warehouse Manager Responsibilities: *The candidate will work with the Data Warehouse Manager to help Data Warehouse team to administer and enhance eCRM Data Warehousing Environment and to take it through the future iterations. *Support current ETL processes, share responsibilities for monitoring eCRM Data warehouse loading process *Maintain existing and develop new reporting and analytical solutions for eCRM Customers *Troubleshoot and resolve data issues *Developer will also help with other eCRM development projects. *Communicate with users, project managers and managers to resolve business problems and create solutions. *Use of technical experience to suggest better solutions to new and existing problems. *Involvement with other IT departments providing systems communication processes. *Meet with various IT groups (other departments and computer operations' staff) to address issues/concerns. This includes other business unit IT groups, as well as the technical operations group (Server Group and other Infrastructure groups). *Identify software solutions needed for new projects. This includes the self education of new tools and/or languages using either the Universal Training classes or other means. *Weekly reporting to manager on project status and issues. *Responsible to communicate with IT team members and user groups as required. *Ability to task priorities. *Formal systems life cycle methodology experience *Ability to investigate and solve problems *Multi-tasking *Team player *Oral and written communication skills *System design is preferred but not required *Required: *3+ years of overall current Oracle experience, PL/SQL *5+ years of Data warehouse , ETL experience *3+ years of Perl experience *Working knowledge of any UNIX (Red Hat Linux preferable) *Proficiency with common Oracle development toolset: TOAD, DBArtisian, ERwin, Enterprise Manager, SQL*Loader etc. *Clear understanding of modern principles and techniques in Data Warehousing and related fields (OLAP, BI, ETL, Metadata Management, Dimensional Modeling, etc.) *Java experience is a plus *Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline *Minimum 4 year degree* * * * * What is the main scope/purpose of the project? Ans. The scope is to support and enhance the existing ETL interfaces that are providing data to Data warehouse. Phase the project is in: Ans. The project is in support phase, though we have continuous requirements for enhancements to the system. *Top 3 technical skills needed to succeed in the position? Ans. Perl Scripting, Unix Scripting, Mysql, Oracle and Data warehouse ETL experience*. Top 5 daily responsibilities? Ans. Support the existing interfaces running in the system, work on the new enhancements that have been provided with, check for any data anomalies that has been reported in the system and fix it. How many team members will the candidate be working with? Ans. The person will be closely working with DW Manager.
