Duration: Longerm( 6months+) Rate: DOE Client:----- *Job Description – Data Center Engineer* You will be part of the team responsible for the management of hardware in production and development data centers. Your strong data center, systems and operations background will enable you to thoroughly understand the process and their inter-relations as well as their relations to our current environments (e.g., development, testing, and production) and manage these through best practice like process. Your communications skills will allow you to understand and assimilate different requirements and changes and capture those in new process and communications to fellow team members. Your troubleshooting/data center management skills will be used regularly to meet the engineering requirements and deadlines. Your multitasking skills will be tested on a daily basis as you manage multiple requests/projects in a dynamic environment where requirements and solutions change constantly. You will work closely with other engineering teams such as the network operations team who manages and monitors the production and development systems. You will also work with other teams such as Project Management and Construction *Responsibilities:* *Required Skills/Experience:* - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience - 2+ years experience in Data Centers managing hardware assets - 1+ years of project management experience with the ability to manage tasks under tight deadlines - Experience managing full life cycle development process as a member of an engineering organization - Experience with the following technologies: TCP/IP, Routing, Unix, SAN, RAID, Databases (Oracle), enterprise host configurations - Proven track record of success and delivering results - Strong sense of methodology, process, and metrics in managing functions and projects - Demonstrated ability to coordinate issue resolution across departmental teams - Experience in developing and documenting detailed project plans for programs involving cross-functional teams and challenging requirements - Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects - Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills conducive to team development - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Extensive experience as a data center engineer working within large heterogeneous environments - Solid day-to-day experience working data centers and co-location environments - Previous experience as a systems administrator - Expertise with hardware troubleshooting and problem diagnosis - Extensive experience with rack and stack of server and network equipment installations - Experienced working fast paced engineering data center environments - Solid experience working with facilities, engineering and systems administration teams - Solid understanding of disaster recovery and business continuance methodology - General familiarity of power systems, and understands how to calculate equipment power draws - General understanding of cooling systems - Familiar with the processes of pulling, terminating and testing copper and fibre network cabling - Experience work with various storage hardware, equipment deployments and SAN fundamentals - Experienced in facilities management, power, racking & stacking, Fibre & CAT cabling, network - Experienced with infrastructure build outs such as racking, power and cabling - Ability to travel between different data centers located - Excellent communication skills to work with vendors and other technicians - Ability to work in Fairfield 50% and San Francisco 50% -- Sridhar Nalluri eCom Solutions Inc. 6165 NW 86th St,Suite 217 Johnston, IA 50131 515-974-6982 (DIRECT) 801-327-4973 (E-FAX) MailTo : [EMAIL PROTECTED] Web : www.ecomsolinc.com --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "zilliontechnologies" group.
