*UMTS - Field Technician * Location:* Nashville, TN* Rate:-$40/hr *Duration:-8+ Months* *Minimum Required Skills * - *Basic knowledge of Nokia and Ericsson Engineering and * - *Operations, knowledge of all interconnecting circuits to include but not limited to T1, T3, and microwave radio* ** - *2 year technical degree, equivalent military or work experience* ** - *2 - 4 years wireless telecommunications experience preferred* ** - *Computer skills and knowledge a plus* ** - *This person will work with 3G Contract Construction Crews at Existing/On Air 2G Cell Sites, providing onsite technical support to those crews, upgrading T-Mobile Cell Sites to 3 G Capability. * - *This will include, but not limited to, interfacing with Local Switch, NOC and Field Personnel to get Sites removed from service, provisioning changes made and Sites returned to service with 3G Capability, normally before construction companies are allowed to leave the Site.* ** - *This person will be involved in and be required to interpret antenna system sweep data, have a strong understanding of telephone transport, Nokia 3G engineering and operations and Ericsson 2G Engineering and Operations. * ** - *This person will need tower crew supervisory skills and provide their own mobile phone, laptop, tools and vehicle.* ** - *The project area is roughly, the Southern Quarter of Indiana, across Kentucky and Middle and East Tennessee.* ** - *This person will report to the Market Operations Manager.* ** - *Much of the work done will be inside of T-Mobile authorized maintenance windows.
