Job Summary
As a member of a project team responsible for designing, coding,
unit/integration testing web services
applications using Java, XML, or SQL. Understanding of system development
lifecycle processes and rapid
development cycles with the ability to independently code, test and
implement solutions based on user
requirements and as directed by project leadership. Ability to plan, manage
and lead UML design sessions.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
-Review, analyze, design, develop, and implement web services applications.
-Lead User Design sessions and manage the design process
-Design, develop and maintain system databases

-Required Experience/Technologies:
-Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other physical science
-2+ years of professional Java development experience with J2EE
-Experience in database development (JDBC) and SQL
-Jakarta Struts (Front Controller with JSP's)
-Familiar with Spring and Hibernate
-Experience with at least two of the following technologies: SOAP, SAX/DOM,
JMS, XML Schema or DTD
-Knowledge of design patterns for J2EE including MVC
-Ability to understand Entity Relational diagrams (ERDs)
-Exposure to all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
-Ability to understand UML Class and Interaction diagrams
-Ability to travel up to 15%
-Desired Experience/Technologies:
-Knowledge of using latest version JDK 1.5 or JDK 1.6
-Knowledge of remote or message Enterprise Java Beans (EJB)
-Knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
-Knowledge of Exception handling frameworks
-Sun / Oracle / JBoss certification preferred
-Ability to create UML Class and Interaction diagrams
-Experience training and mentoring other Java developers
-Experience using Together or Rational Rose for UML creation
-Use Case development
-Programs Used:
Eclipse, JBoss or Oracle Application Server / oc4j, Microsoft Office Product
Suite, Visio, CVS, TOAD,
Internet Explorer 5, SQL Server Enterprise Manager, BugZilla
