This is for my direct client opening for *Web Application Engineer - Mountain View, CA*. This is a *12+ Months Contract* position. The Hourly rate is *$40/hr*. *Local candidates only*. *We are looking for 2 talented application engineers who like to write code and build services that will be used by millions of consumers. * * * *Responsibilities:* · Combine the challenge of writing production quality code with designing super-simple voice interfaces for the masses · Team up with other world-class engineers and designers to solve complex problems including accessing content in batch mode or real time and presenting the data in a voice interface. · Work with strong technical leaders on integration projects with external vendors like carriers, or other project vendors. · Work on innovative, industry-leading voice products and services designed for people on-the-go *Required Qualifications* 1-3 years of relevant experience: · Developing commercial software in one or more of: Perl, C/C++, Python, or Ruby · Web programming experience: JavaScript, XML, HTTP, HTML, CSS · Development experience in a UNIX/Linux environment · Well versed in source control (CVS, Subversion) and defect-tracking systems (Bugzilla) · Proven ability to plan, schedule, and deliver quality software · BS+ in computer science or related fields * * *Preferred or other useful Qualifications:* · Speech, telephony, or VUI experience · Apache web server setup and debugging proficiency · Experience writing database access APIs · Experience working on large-scale software projects · Experience in building software as a service and live web services · Experience with distributed programming models * * *This is a junior to mid-level position, as denoted by the pay rate.
