Research and identify optimal mature technologies, as well as emerging technologies, that can be applied to current IT operations to resolve problems, make improvements or satisfy customer needs. Design, develop and implement engineering solutions aligned with enterprise architecture framework to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of enterprise infrastructure operations. Formulate and propose technology initiatives to lead the optimization of enterprise IT infrastructure. Areas that the candidate is expected to make immediate impact are: Exchange infrastructure upgrade, Email archiving, server consolidation and virtualization, Microsoft SMS deployment, Desktop engineering, Citrix farm optimization, enterprise storage and backup, patch management and enterprise system monitoring. Typical Minimums A Bachelor degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority. Required skills? Significant Experience with HP Blade server hardware and Blade management software (ICE, VSE) ? Scripting (VBS, Jscript, Powershell) ? Experience with Citrix Technologies ? Extensive experience with Windows 2000/2003 Server ? Experience with IIS ? Experience with Active Directory ? Experience with MS Exchange 2003 ? Experience with Software Distribution/Patch Management: Microsoft ADS/SMS for Windows software distribution (server & desktop). Microsoft's SUS for patch management for Windows platforms ? Experience with VMWare ESX ? Experience with MS SQL Server ? Experience with archiving solutions, such as Symantec Enterprise Vault, Overtone etc. ? Experience with NetApp storage system ? Extensive experience with system design, engineering solution development, and IT system engineering life cycle management. Desired skills Enterprise Backup Software, such as Syncsort, NetBackup, Tovoli, etc. Experience with enterpriser storage systems and SAN and NAS configurations.
