Must have experience with Adobe Flex testing Functional Title: QA Engineer *Position Description:* Responsible for writing and executing tests. Individual must have 3 or more years QA testing experience. Strong technical background is required. Strong problem solving skills technical knowledge of Web and Client Server applications, Oracle, Internet browsers, performance testing, system/process monitoring, and database structures. Must have experience in comparison of data in flat files, algorithm validation, application performance testing, and comparing front end results with backend processes, logs, database. Financial background with market data and Index data knowledge and real-time dashboard or console applications is preferred. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. The key skills are: Web-testing; ability to measure performance/scalability of applications; analytical skills; strong IT background including in-depth knowledge of networking, UNIX, SQL, and web deployments; scripting; and parsing/comparing files. This position requires a strong technical background as well as solid QA experience. This position is responsible for testing a web application using Adobe Flex to stream real-time data and verifying performance and throughput of the application when accessed from varying global locations. Work on developing test code/ stub applications using Java. Apply strategies and approaches for identifying risks with implementation, assessing their likelihood, and initiating strategies to test for those risks. Major Responsibilities/Activities * Develop test code using Java * Design and execute test plans and test cases to ensure system performance meets quality standards and customer requirements * Write and execute queries in Oracle * Prepare test plan/case/results documentation for delivery to customer * Design defect tracking and management, including logging defects and ensuring all defects are retested and fixed prior to release. * Configure, administer, and troubleshoot software test environments * Deployment and version control management * Work closely with Project Manager, Business Analyst and Technical Lead to plan product releases, including resource planning, project timelines and identification of testing needs * Review, maintain and improve current software test methodologies and processes. * * *Requirements:* Skills: Critical Thinking, Organization, Detail oriented, Self-motivated, Analytic mind-set, ability to work as part of a team as well as independently, excellent Communication skills Experience: Bachelor's Degree required 2-5 years of SQA testing, including data-centric web applications. Must include documentation. At least 1year of experience coding in Java Strong understanding of QA processes and methodologies Experience with full Software Development Lifecycle (concept to deployment) Government experience a plus. Consulting experience preferred. Some knowledge of J2EE preferred.
