The System Administrator manages the day to day operations of the company's
server infrastructure, consisting of *UNIX and Windows-Server environments*.
This position strives to insure a reliable, secure and cost effective IT
infrastructure, with reliable authentication, email and data storage for all
users. With limited guidance, participates as technical expert in design,
development, configuration, testing and debugging of new hardware/software
or significant enhancements to existing hardware/software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates in the administration of UNIX servers in an
enterprise-class environment.
- Assists in the administration of *Microsoft* *Active Directory
servers*in enterprise-class environment.
- Responsible for ensuring proper deployment of needed new
infrastructure.
- Identifies system reliability issues and drives tool/process
improvements to correct determined problems.
- Ensures system performance optimization in production, test and
development environment, along with capacity / print management.
- Assists in planning and deployment of new technology initiatives
supporting the enterprise.
Requirements:
- Experience as a *UNIX systems administrator* in an enterprise (1000+
user) environment.
- Experience as a Windows systems administrator in an enterprise
(1000+user) environment is a plus
- Experience in Sun *Solaris, Websphere, Oracle, and UNIX* in general.
- Experience in collateral server technologies, including but not limited
to; *o Oracle 8 and 0 on UNIX o VMware / ESX Servers o Citrix + RDP + VNC
* technologies o *SAN storage, Clustering* and High-Availability
topologies
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
