Job Description

The Systems Engineer will contribute to the overall engineering, design,
build and high level support of all existing and new .NET Applications
running on Microsoft Windows. As a member of the operations team, the
successful candidate will need to work closely with our internal QA and
Development teams to design new systems, find solutions to problems, and
plan as well as execute successful launches. The candidate will need to
employ existing automation tools and build new ones to successfully deploy
applications to the QA and Production environments. The candidate will also
interface with clients who report issues and will need to resolve those
issues through effective troubleshooting.

Requirements

************
• 3-5 years of experience with large-scale production Windows web servers.
Including:
• IIS
• ASP.NET
• NET 1.1, 2.0 and 3.5
• MSSQL client configurations via Microsoft Data Link and .NET
• Proficient in a Windows Server environment
• Experience in a Unix shell environment
• Exceptional troubleshooting and documentation skills
• Exhibit good working knowledge of load balancing concepts, TCP/IP, DNS,
SSH, and SFTP
• VBS scripting experience is a plus

Responsibilities

The responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited
to:
• Install new .NET and ASP applications on Windows Server 2003.
• Proactively monitor windows environment and .NET applications for
anomalies and errors, report and escalate issues
• Provide the required daily support, maintenance, and management of the
platforms
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for various applications running on multiple
platforms (Windows and Linux)
• Provide input to team projects and suggest solutions in team meetings
• Plan and support software releases in conjunction with Project Managers,
QA teams and Developers
• Provide day-to-day support to clients via a ticketing system and limited
over-the-phone support
• Handle production outages and issues in a timely and effective manner
• Document procedures, application installations and environment
