Duration : *6+ months* Rate : *Open* Experience : *8+ years* The Application Architect works with Technical Team in the successful completion of projects against scope definition, timeline, budget and quality of deliverables. This role will require extensive experience with software design, and software development lifecycle. This is part of the Web & Delivery group of BIG IT and will be key contributor to the design and implementation of our application development and delivery strategy. The Application Architect role is responsible for successful project completion against business objectives, project scope, software design/architecture, timeline, budget, customer satisfaction, and quality. This includes software design, technical documentation, development team leadership, code management/review, and deployment planning. Essential Accountability • Architect for large, complex, and multiple concurrent customer facing web based software development projects • Lead development teams and ensure all development team project milestones and deadlines are met • Lead web applications, web services, and 3rd party integrations design, build, test, and deployment • Execution against the project schedule and budget • Attend project meetings and presents information as required • Work effectively and efficiently with internal and external technical and business teams • Remain current and grow knowledge of Microsoft .Net, XML, SOA, and database technologies • Proactive in identifying and recommending improvement opportunities through analysis and documentation • Provide guidance and recommendations for best practices in the design and use of BIG's technical infrastructure • Contribute to the development of new ideas and methods 1. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • 8 plus years of experience with in an Application Architectural role • 8 plus years of experience with .Net and Microsoft Technologies • Well versed with Object Oriented Principles • Extensive experience with Design patterns (software patterns) and design principles • Experience with Multi-threading • 8 plus years hands-on experience leading medium to large scale and/or enterprise-wide software development projects in a .Net/WinTel environment • Experience leading a team of developers, ensuring architecture and design to meet product requirements, and be responsible to deliver high quality products & solutions on time and on budget • Extensive knowledge of Internet application development including ASP.Net, C#/.NET, ADO.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, VBScript, XML, PL-SQL, and SOA enterprise development principles • Hands on experience developing web services and Windows services using Microsoft .Net technologies • 3 plus years of experience with SOA and constructing SOA components • Experience estimating, planning, designing, and implementing n-tier software architectures • Strong ability to clearly explain issues of reliability, scalability, and extensibility with respect to the overall solution • Mature design skills and the ability to clearly articulate and clarify design tradeoffs to the client • Good communication skills Required Skills: • Demonstrated experience with a Software Development Life Cycle Methodology and information systems development • Ability to partner with customers to identify needs and apply appropriate technical solutions • Develop necessary technical documentation/technical writing • Mentor web and software developers • Analytical skills such as define requirements and issue resolution • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast paced work environment • Effective use of time management, planning and organization skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent and concise analytical, problem solving and verbal/written communication skills • Ability to articulate capabilities and constraints of technology R Square Inc. strictly complies with applicable national laws, including, but not limited to, laws relating to labor and employment, equal employment opportunity, and employment eligibility requirements.
