Oracle Development DBA
Responsibilities:
- Follow the client's system development methodologies and complete assigned tasks within a reasonable time frame under the supervision of a manager.
- Provide leadership and support for the DBA team and the development team.
- Provide day-to-day technical assistance in resolving production problems.
- Provide in-depth analysis, diagnose, repair or enhance production application.
- Develop Proof of Concepts for new Oracle Tools.
- Designer upgrade to 10g Release 2 and use SCM for Parallel Development.
- Setup Transparent Gateway to integrate Oracle with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Using JNDI or password file (safety protected) instead of hard coding ECF or other schema password.
- Setup and mentor on J2EE Architecture.
- Setup Public Synonyms for security related purpose.
- Implement Global OID now that ECF has upgraded to 10g Release 2.
- Implement Oracle Portal.
- Mentor the Application Architect (IT employee) on the strategic technical Road Map.
Need following technical skills and experience:
- Able to provide leadership and guidance for the DBA team and development team,
- Strong knowledge on strategic direction of Oracle Development Environment and Tools.
- Strong knowledge of Forms Version 10g.
- Strong knowledge with J2EE development, Java, JDeveloper and Oracle 10g.
- Experience with set up and configuration of Oracle servers, web-based systems architecture, Oracle replication, and DBA activities
- Strong knowledge on UNIX system, especially HPUX, and Oracle running on HPUX.
- Actual working experience as an Oracle DBA.
Day-to-day responsibilities and Deliverables:
- Provide day-to-day technical assistance in resolving production problems.
- Provide more in-depth analysis, diagnose, repair or enhance production application.
- Follow the client's system development methodologies and complete assigned tasks within a reasonable time frame under the supervision of a manager.
- Review test plans and validate test results.
- Plan and manage all aspects of the support function.
- Mentor staff members in programming and problem resolution.
Scope of the project:
- Provide technical assistance and guidance to SCIF in the following areas:
- Technical architecture
- Technology mentoring
- Quality control
Activities for this contract focus on the following:
- Designer upgrade to 10g Release 2 and use SCM for Parallel Development
- Setup Transparent Gateway to integrate with Microsoft SQL Server
- Using JNDI or password file (safely protected) instead of hard coding client's schema passwords
- Setup and mentor on J2EE Architecture
- Setup Public Synonyms for security related purpose
- Implement Global OID once ECF upgraded to 10g Release 2, then implement Oracle Portal
- Provide Support to client's applications
- Work with the DBAs, applications support, and interact with other team members in problem resolution
- Share knowledge and mentor other team members
