Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Enterprise Database Architect for a contract
opportunity! The ideal candidate will have experience with SQL Server 2005/8,
Oracle (9i, 10g, 11g) and DB2/UDB. Your project is to revise and upgrade two
corporate standards (OLTP Database and Data Warehouse DBMS). You will identify
and verify current vendor supported GA DBMS versions and releases that
correspond to this company's standards and coordinate with appropriate SME's.
You will also develop evaluation criteria and considerations, including NFR's
(Performance, Scalability, Capacity, Availability, etc.), Backup/Recovery,
Security, Integration, etc. Additional responsibilities include, defining cases
and testing cases that would effectively validate (or invalidate) the
databases. Oversight and execution of test cases and including documentation of
test results. Also, develop and document recommendations, validate and
socialize test results/recommendations and publish and communicate the updated
the standards.
