Title: *Senior Network Engineer * Location: *New York**, NY** * Salary Offered: *DOE * This is my direct client opening for *Senior Network Engineer - New York, NY *. This is a *12 months contract position*. The Hourly rate is DOE. Candidates need to interview in person and should be in the NY area. *Scope of Services:* We are seeking a qualified Senior Network Engineer. The responsibilities will include: assist in the design, build and deployment of networking and Wintel Server based hardware and software; document and maintain a complete design document of Agency hardware and software systems, assets and policies and procedures. Position will support networking technologies in the area of advanced networking such as content switching, wireless IP, and Voice over IP, knowledge of router display/configuration commands to display status of IP addresses, routes, router access list (ACL's). *Mandatory Skills/Experience: * *-8 years experience as Network Engineer* -Client is a 24 X 7 working environment. The consultant must be flexible to work evenings and weekends, upon request. -Experience supporting networking technologies in the area of advanced networking such as content switching, wireless IP, and Voice over IP, -knowledge of router display/configuration commands to display status of IP addresses, routes, router access list (ACL's). -The selected individual will have knowledge of network procedures for routers, switches, and network servers. (Please specify your experience for each one listed above) -Candidate must have the expertise and experience to review and evaluate current and future design issues as required to maintain network integrity, efficient data flow, scalability, and cost-efficiency. -must be knowledgeable in principles of Wide Area Network design in a multi-protocol environment and possess in depth knowledge of bridging, switching, routing principles, TCP/IP, network planning and design. *Desirable Skill/Expertise:* -Thorough understanding of router protocols including but not limited to: OCPF, and RIP; LAN/WAN, Gigabit Ethernet, Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Serial, HSRP, TCP/IP, IGRP -Experience with Technologies such as: EIGRP, Cisco HDLC, CNR, UDP/IP, TCP/IP, ICMP, ARP, SNMP, SNA, FDDI, DNS, WINS, SMTP, Network IP Addressing and Subnetting, and cabling standards. -Understanding of Connectivity for CAT5/CAT6, ingle mode/multi mode fiber, Ether Channel, VLAN, RMON, Networking knowledge of Cisco Routers (6500s, 4000s, 4500s series, with MSFC-2s multilayer switch feature cards. - Equipment: Model 7500s, 7400s, 7200s, 3000s, 2600s, 2500s, 1600s); AAAS5300 Switches Model 6500, 4500, 5000, 5500, 3500, 2800, 1900s - Tools: HP/UX Open view, New Scout Probes, Tivoli enterprise console. -Mgmt. Network Analyzer: Sniffer, Concord, Cisco works, Wireless: Access Points Cisco Air Net (340s, 350s, 1200s); LEAP, 802.11A, 802.11B, 40 and 128-bit encryption; Cisco Call Manager and Unity VOIP system.
