Performance Tuning: they must be experts in this They must be experts in writing complex procedures. Everyday they process billions of records from different sources into SQL Server so the must understand this as it is the majority of their day. Database Modeling: they must comprehend table structures and understand how to set up indexes on table. They must have excellent communication skills b/c they do a lot of team communication via the phone as people are in different sites. Need to have large application experience. Nice to have: They do not need to be experts in SSIS or Analysis services. these are nice to have skills. They just need to have an understandind of Teradata, not be an expert. Interview process: Local candidates are preferred b/c they will require a f2f for the second interview. They will first have a 30 min phone screen where they do a high level validation of technical knowledge. Second step is a f2f then offer. There are a team of 8 interviewers although not all of them are on every interview. Prepare candidate that he will be talking to a technical team.
